The Show Palace, an all-male theater at 672 Eighth Avenue and West 43rd Street, is typical of the “adult” entertainment venues that proliferated in Times Square beginning in the 1960s. It closed in 1995. The redevelopment that began in the 1990s transformed Times Square into a family-friendly neighborhood of restaurants, hotels, and theaters.
