Nation of Islam meeting featuring Malcolm X, July 13, 1963

Less than a year after the public rally, Malcolm X split from the Nation of Islam due to ideological differences with Elijah Muhammad. Many followed him to form Muslim Mosque Incorporated and the Organization of African American Unity, which emphasized broader Islamic relations and Pan-Africanism.
