The Department of Health issued public service announcements in the early years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic to educate New Yorkers on how the disease spread. This poster, circa 1980s, depicts two ways AIDS is transmitted: unprotected sex and needle sharing. Vertical files-Health-HIV/AIDS, NYC Municipal Library.
