This Indenture made the Ninth day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty five Between The Mayor Aldermen and Commonalty of the City of New York of the first part and The Richmond Turnpike Company of the second part, Witnesseth Whereas the said parties of the Second part have become the Owners by Assignment of a certain Indenture of Lease made the Sixteenth day of July, in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Seven between The Mayor Aldermen and Commonalty of the City of New York of the First part and the President Directors and Company of the Fulton Bank of the City of New York of the Second part for certain premises situate lying and being at Whitehall Slip in the First Ward of the City of New York, and mentioned and described in the said Lease, together with a right of ferrying and transporting passengers horses Carriages and freight to and from the same premises and by means thereof to and from a certain Dock on Staten Island, there used as a landing place for such purposes by the said parties of the Second part to the said Indenture and the right of receiving reasonable ferriage for such ferrying and transportation for and during the term of ten Years from the First day of May in the Said Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Seven Which said Indenture of Lease contains certain other Covenants and Conditions between the parties thereto, as by reference to the same will more fully appear. And Whereas the said Mayor Aldermen and Commonalty of the City of New York have upon the application of the said Richmond Turnpike Company consented and agreed to extend the term of the said Lease so held by them, for the period of Ten Years from the first day of May which will be in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Seven, upon the terms and conditions hereinafter mentioned. Now therefore this Indenture Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the Premises and of the rents covenants payments articles and agreements hereinafter mentioned and contained on the part and behalf of the said parties of the Second part, their Successors and assigns to be paid done performed fulfilled and kept, Have demised granted and to farm letten and by these presents Do demise grant and to farm let unto the said parties of the Second part, All and singular the said Premises mentioned described and demised in and by the said Indenture of Lease hereinbefore referred to, with the appurtenances (to be used for the accommodation of the Ferry hereinafter mentioned and for no other purpose) Together with a right of ferrying and transporting passengers horses, carriages and freight to and from the same premises and by means thereof to and from the Dock on Staten Island now and heretofore used as a landing place for such purposes by the said parties of the Second part with liberty to touch at their Docks at Castleton and Southfield on Staten Island; and the right of receiving reasonable ferriages for such ferrying and transportation during

In Witness whereof to one part of these presents, remaining with the said parties of the first part the said parties of the Second part have affixed their Corporate Seal; and to the other part thereof, remaining with the said parties of the Second part, the said parties of the First part have caused the Common Seal of the City of New York to be affixed, the day and Year first above Written
